Puddle of Muddle will splash down at the Canyon Santa Clarita Jan. 5 as the post-grunge alt-metal hard rockers wrap up a year of roadwork in the States and Europe.
“We’ve been all over, toured Germany and Austria a couple times, had a great time and made it out alive,” frontman-founder and lead singer Wes Scantlin said last week between gigs in the Midwest.
“Our chops are all chopped up and good,” he said. “We’re playing all the hits and trying to squeeze in as many cool B tracks as we can.”
With six albums in the Puddle of Mudd catalog, including the five-million-selling major-label debut “Come Clean,” a handful of Billboard chart-topping rock tracks, and maybe a new song or two, Scantlin and crew have plenty to choose from.
“We’re playing ‘Control,’ ‘Psycho,’ ‘Blurry,’ ‘She F’in Hates Me,’ ‘Famous,’ ‘Drift and Die,’ ‘Spin You Around,’ ‘Heel Over Head’ and more,” he said.
“We’re going to get up there and jam as long as the venue will let us,” he said, “until they start saying, ‘You got to start paying overtime for security.’”.
Along with Scantlin, Puddle of Mudd now features David Moreno (drums, vocals), Michael John Adams (bass, vocals) and Matt Fuller (guitar, vocals).
