A group of lawyers from Valencia-based Reape-Rickett Law Firm has recently been recognized among the top 5 percent of Southern California’s attorneys.
Shareholders James P. Reape and Matthew A. Breddan, Senior Attorney Laurence R. Goldman, and attorney Larry Epstein were selected as Super Lawyers by the Thompson Reuters Corp.
“This is a direct reflection of our firm’s mission of each member conducting themselves in accordance with the highest ethical standards and commitment to providing quality services,” the firm said in a prepared statement Wednesday.
Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers and every year its Southern California Super Lawyers list recognizes top attorneys through a multiphase selection process involving peer nomination, independent research and peer evaluation, according to its website.
Reape, who has been named a Super Lawyer four other times in the past, said Friday he “always appreciate(s)” the recognition, which “gives us better clout in the courtroom. A good lawyer knows the law and a great lawyer knows the judge.”
The other selected attorneys have also earned the recognition in the past.
The firm, headquartered on Springfield Court in Valencia and with offices in Calabasas and Westlake Village, specializes exclusively in the area of family law, including in divorce, premarital agreements, guardianship work and grandparents rights. Currently, Reape-Rickett has 11 attorneys and will soon have 13, Reape said.
