AMG & Associates, a Santa Clarita-based public works general contractor, will invest once again in the education sector, as it sets on to construct a new elementary school in Santa Maria.

The company recently announced it was awarded the $41 million construction project of the school in Enos Ranch in the Santa Maria-Bonita School District, within the state’s central coast region. This would mark AMG’s second job with the district since 2015.

The school will consist of three new buildings, totaling more than 67,000 square feet. A total of 26 classrooms will hold up to 900 kindergarten through sixth-grade students. The site will also include a large multipurpose space devoted to therapeutic learning and special education, two softball fields, a soccer field and four basketball courts.

Construction is expected to commence in roughly 30 days and be completed by late summer of 2020, according to company officials.

AMG was also recently awarded with two separate projects: the $10.9 million Cuesta College North County Campus R&B Schultz Early Childhood Education Building and the $5.6 million Cuesta College SLO Campus Data Center Project from the San Luis Obispo County Community College District.

These awards put AMG’s total backlog to around $100 million — an achievement that reflects the 104 percent, three-year average growth that earned the company the 3,152nd spot on Inc. 5000’s 2017 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America, which marked AMG’s sixth time on the list.
