In celebration of Library Week, the Santa Clarita Public Library is set to host a series of open houses to showcase what the libraries have to offer.

“The Santa Clarita Public Library has what you need for your next adventure — whether that’s researching your next vacation destination, learning how to use new technology or diving into a new story,” the city said in a news release Tuesday.

Library Week takes place April 7-13, and will also be celebrated online through the city of Santa Clarita and the Public Library Facebook pages.

Refreshments will be offered to participants as they get a behind-the-scenes tour of each branch, meet the city mascot Sammy Clarita and local library staff members. Opportunities to win a prize through several activities will also be offered.

The public is invited to the following free open houses. Reservations are not required:

  • Tuesday, April 9, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Valencia Library, located at 23743 Valencia Blvd.
  • Wednesday, April 10, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library, located at 18601 Soledad Canyon Road.
  • Thursday, April 11, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Old Town Newhall Library, located at 24500 Main St.
