As part of the Castaic Union School District’s month-long sing of appreciation, the faculty and classified staff members of Northlake Hills Elementary received a special visit from La Momia Tacos on Tuesday.

Northlake Elementary was the first to receive a visit from La Momia, who catered lunches for the staff at the school location, with plans for the taco servers to visit the three other schools in the CUSD plus the district office before the end of the month.

“On behalf of the school board and district management, I would like to thank you for all of your efforts in serving the children of Castaic Union School District,” said Steve Doyle, Castaic Union School District superintendent, in a statement released Tuesday. “Although your roles vary, your dedication and commitment to ultimately serve our students is evident on a daily basis.”

Sweat Beams Ice Cream is also scheduled to visit Northlake Elementary on Wednesday, and plans to go to each of the schools a day after La Momia.

The La Momia catering has been sponsored by SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union and the Sweat Beams Ice Cream has been provided by California Credit Union, two of the district’s partners, officials said.

“We all have that common district mission to provide our children with a rigorous education supported by a safe and nurturing environment that maximizes student achievement,” Doyle said. “You all work so hard to achieve that mission, and we say, ‘Thank you.’”
