Los Angeles County Fire Department officials airlifted an injured hiker from Towsley Canyon in Stevenson Ranch on Saturday.
After receiving an initial call at 11:50 a.m., fire officials only had access to the hiker by helicopter, according to dispatch supervisor Art Marrujo. The hiker, a 49-year-old man with an injured leg, was airlifted at 12:47 p.m.
A landing zone was initially set up next to the Church of the Nazarene, down The Old Road from Towsley Canyon, before it was moved up to a parking lot at the foot of the trail.
The patient was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, according to Marrujo.
No further information on the hiker’s condition was immediately available.
