Local sheriff’s deputies are following up on a mid-afternoon robbery at a Canyon Country bus stop Thursday in which a man snatched a cell phone from someone and fled.
The incident happened at 3:30 p.m., when a man walked up to somebody at a bus stop near Golden Valley Road and Sierra Highway and grabbed their phone.
“No weapon was used,” said Lt. Jim Royal, of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, referring to what deputies call a “strong arm robbery.”
“Somebody was waiting at the bus stop, and somebody else just took the cell phone,” Royal said.
The thief was seen getting into a black Honda Civic driven by another man. The car was last seen traveling northbound on Sierra Highway.
