A boy has been detained by deputies on suspicion of threatening his family at knifepoint in Valencia.
Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to an area immediately north of Copper Hill Drive, between Calex Drive and San Francisquito Canyon Road, for reports of a male seen brandishing a knife.
Deputies combed the area looking for the suspect.
“A juvenile was arrested for reportedly threatening a family member with a knife,” said Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
“He’s been detained on (suspicion of making) criminal threats,” she said.
