A power outage was reported in the Canyon Country area Wednesday afternoon.

The outage was reported early 1:47 p.m. and is affecting 737 residents as of about 3 p.m., according to Taelor Bakewell, spokeswoman for Southern California Edison.

“Our crews are currently working,” said Bakewell. “It’s due to failed underground equipment.”

As of 4:30 p.m., a repair crew was working to fix the issue, Bakewell said.

“They’re currently working on it, but they don’t have an estimated restoration time as of right now,” said Bakewell. “It’s just underground so they’re trying to assess what the damage really is.”

Bakewell said the outage boundaries to the north were Canyon Park Boulevard, to the east is Highway 14, to the south is Jason Drive and to the west is Oak Canyon Drive.
