Henry Mayo reports two more COVID-19 deaths

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital announced two additional deaths related to COVID-19 Thursday, bringing the hospital’s total to 165 since the onset of the pandemic.

As of Thursday, Henry Mayo had 22 COVID-19 patients in the hospital — a decrease of eight since Friday of last week — with a total of 1,491 COVID-19 patients discharged, according to hospital spokesman Patrick Moody.

Public Health officials also released the following updated COVID-19 statistics Thursday:

Countywide COVID-19 cases reported in the past 24 hours: 2,023

Total COVID-19 cases in L.A. County: 1,439,011

New deaths related to COVID-19 reported in the past 24 hours: 28

Total COVID-19 deaths in L.A. County: 25,775

Hospitalizations countywide: 1,185, 30% of whom are in the ICU.

Hospitalizations at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital as of Sept. 16: 22, with 1,491 discharged since the onset of the pandemic.

COVID-19 cases reported in the Santa Clarita Valley in the past 24 hours: 86, 51 of which came from the city of Santa Clarita

Total COVID-19 cases in the SCV: 34,923

Total COVID-19 deaths in the SCV as of Sept. 15: 324

Percentage of vaccinated people (at least one dose) in the city of Santa Clarita as of Sept. 9: 76.2%

Percentage of vaccinated people (at least one dose) in the SCV as of Sept. 9: 72.5%
