SoCal Edison workers were shoring up power lines along Golden Valley Road last month. According to multiple media reports, the company has been working over the last several years in an effort to make Public Safety Power Shutoffs less necessary during periods of either high temperatures or high winds. The company said in a news release last year that power shutoffs could still be necessary should harsh conditions cause the power grid to be overworked.
