Re: Gary Horton. Mr. Horton, I deeply connected with your July 23 column, “The Silence That Costs Us Everything.” I particularly connect to your comments about the top 1% in America. Lines like pointing out the political stunt that is tax cuts for the rich, and your data of the top families owning half of America. I am writing about the potential of a wealth tax in America in my class at CSUN.
I am wondering, what steps would you suggest taking to improve all these public sector positions you talk about in your article? Do you think a tax on the ultra wealthy could help the country? Thank you for your thoughtful piece, and I would love to hear a response from you!
