The California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office is conducting a DUI checkpoint in an undisclosed location in the Santa Clarita Valley and its surrounding areas on Friday.
According to a social media post by the CHP Newhall-area Office, the goal is to remove “impaired drivers from our roadways and keep our community safe. Driving under the influence puts lives at risk — don’t take the chance.”
Commuters are encouraged to take the following precautions to ensure a safe driving experience:
- Designating a sober driver.
- Using rideshare or public transportation.
- Reporting suspected impaired drivers by calling 9-1-1.
