UPDATE: Tuesday night, after this story was posted, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department reported the boy had been found.

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on Tuesday issued an alert for a boy reported missing by his family early that morning — and sheriff’s deputies suspect the 14-year-old may have driven off in a family truck.

Jaxton Donnelly, 14, is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 137 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Donnelly’s family reported that he was last seen at the family home in the 25000 block of Hidden Willow Circle in Canyon Country.

SCV Sheriff’s Station deputies suspect he took a family member’s 2003 white GMC truck, as the keys also were missing, according to a report to the station.

There is no known suspected destination, so the public is being asked to keep an eye out for the truck and report it to the station, if it’s located. The truck’s license plate number is 770GAG.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-260-4000.
