The rider killed in a motorcycle crash on Monday evening on Railroad Avenue has been identified as Vincent Villuri, 21, a recent graduate of The Master’s University, according to officials.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies were dispatched to Railroad Avenue, approximately 100 yards away from the Via Princessa overpass, to a report of a traffic collision, Deputy Robert Jensen, a spokesman for the station, said during initial reports.

When first responders arrived at the scene of the reported incident, they found a solo vehicle motorcycle crash, Jensen added.

Villuri was transported to the hospital in unknown condition at 7:26 p.m., according to L.A. County Fire Department Public Information Officer Fred Fielding. Villuri succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical personnel, according to Jensen.

Villuri was a resident of Franklin Park, New Jersey, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, and he graduated from The Master’s University earlier this year with a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, according to Mason Nesbitt, director of communications for the private Christian university in Placerita Canyon.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of a beloved member of the TMU family,” an emailed statement from the university provided by Nesbitt read.

“Vincent’s love for Jesus Christ was evident to all who knew him. While we grieve his absence, we take comfort in knowing he is now in the presence of our Savior. We are praying for his family and friends in this profoundly difficult time,” the statement added.

According to preliminary information in the investigation, speed and driving under the influence do not appear to be factors in the cause of the crash, Jensen said.

The collision was ruled an accident, according to the L.A. County Medical Examiner.
