It’s been a while since I felt the need to say something, but Christine Flowers’ Sept. 24 commentary could not be ignored. It doesn’t matter whether we agree or disagree. Whether we are left, right or center. The paragraph, “We do not live in a society, or at least we did not used to until Charlie Kirk fell, where our words are used as bullets against us,” is ludicrous.
Let’s list the obvious: Abraham Lincoln, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., just to name a few. All assassinated, gunned down, for their words. The column ends with a reference to yourself as an attorney and columnist. You do a huge disservice to yourself and your profession when you make statements that are not true. Very sad.
