Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies on Tuesday arrested a San Fernando Valley man on suspicion of grand theft from his employer, Amazon.

Station officials indicated that, on Aug. 5, the suspect’s employer contacted the station to allege the 22-year-old Pacoima resident, who listed his occupation as a driver in arrest records, had been stealing from the business.

Station officials did not identify the business, which was in Valencia, but they indicated the owners suspected him of stealing more than $7,000 in merchandise in an email Tuesday from Deputy Mariela Picard of the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

A felony complaint for an arrest warrant filed Aug. 28 identified Amazon as the victim, and the period from theft from Sept. 1, 2024, to Aug.4.

L.A. County Superior Court Judge Patricia Hunter authorized a $50,000 arrest warrant for the suspect in August following an investigation by station detectives.

Deputies from the station’s Crime Impact Team arrested the suspect Monday.

He’s currently being held in lieu of $70,000 bail at the SCV Sheriff’s Station jail.

Custody records available online indicate he’s due at L.A. County Superior Court in San Fernando on Wednesday.
