A Valencia man was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping on Friday night after he threatened to harm his ex-girlfriend and forced her into a vehicle using threats, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station official.

The ex-girlfriend of a Valencia man went to the 28000 block of Dickason Drive on Friday night to retrieve some of her personal belongings, Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station, wrote on Tuesday morning in an email to The Signal.

When she was in the process of retrieving her items, her ex-boyfriend, identified as a 27-year-old Valencia resident, allegedly ordered her to get in the vehicle and threatened her with physical harm if she didn’t comply, Miller wrote in the email.

The man then took the ex-girlfriend to an open space in the Lyons Ranch and The Old Road area where she then contacted authorities, Miller wrote in the email. The incident was reported at approximately 9 p.m.

Deputies then responded to the area and located the suspect where he was then arrested and transported to the SCV Sheriff’s Station, Miller wrote.

He was booked on suspicion of felony charges of kidnapping, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrest logs available online, and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail at Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles.

The woman was not harmed in the incident, Miller added.
