Thank you Charles Yacobian for your letter to the editor Saturday, Oct. 4. I would also remind Lois Eisenberg that it does not take a gun to kill. The following story appeared in several news sources Oct. 2, the very day that her letter appeared in The Signal!
“Two people were killed and at least four more were injured in an attack on a synagogue on the holiest Jewish holiday of the year in Manchester, England. Thursday marks Yom Kippur, a Jewish holiday centered on repentance and atonement that involves fasting and extended prayer. However, on the morning of the service, at approximately 9:31 a.m. local time, a 35-year-old British citizen of Syrian descent, Jihad Al-Shami, drove a car into pedestrians and then began stabbing individuals outside the synagogue.”
Again, it does not take a gun to kill people. A knife, a car, a bomb. But mostly, it is crazy people who kill!
