Most Santa Claritans watching Dodger games this year knew not to turn off the TV until the final out. Again, this heart attack team came through in exciting and unexpected ways, bringing the World Series title back to Los Angeles for the second year in a row.
Proudly, our valley’s Hart High School graduate and pitcher, Tyler Glasnow, was part of this destined team.
Yes, it has been a great and sometimes unexpected victory, with multiple heroes rising to the occasion, ending in a double play to finish the seventh game. The entire Dodger playoff run is a highlight reel of different players coming together as a team to claim the crown!
Making baseball decisions is not easy, and there’s always a risk of criticism from those watching from afar. However, the highlight reel doesn’t reveal the behind-the-scenes choices the manager and coaches need to make, such as adjusting the lineup, changing the pitching rotation, positioning defensive players, and the psyche that constantly plays a role with talented athletes.
Congratulations to Tyler Glasnow and the Dodgers, but now let me take care of my cardiac symptoms!
