A man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing another man with a knife at the 18000 block of Sierra Highway on Wednesday afternoon, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Deputies received the call at 4:48 p.m., according to Shirley Miller, spokeswoman with the station.
Miller said that the two men knew each other and got into a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation.
The suspect allegedly had a knife and stabbed the victim in the hand, but Miller could not confirm whether that was where he was stabbed due to the report not being readily available.
The injuries were non-life-threatening, Miller said.
Miller added that the victim may have been medically treated at the scene, but she could not confirm.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were dispatched at 4:55 p.m. and arrived on the scene at 5:03 p.m., according to Howard Tieu with the Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to a medical emergency call and staged near the incident until deputies ensured it was safe for them to enter the scene, Tieu said.
There were no transports reported, Tieu said.
There is no additional information at the time of this publication, Miller said.
