One person was arrested under suspicion of felony driving under the influence following a five-vehicle crash on The Old Road and Rye Canyon Road on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.
According to preliminary information, at approximately 2:57 p.m., a vehicle traveling southbound on The Old Road veered onto oncoming traffic and crashed into two vehicles traveling the opposite direction, according to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, a spokesman for the CHP Newhall office.

At the time of the crash, the suspect was traveling with a husky, according to Burgos-Lopez and the CHP Incident logs.
Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control personnel were called to the scene to pick up the dog and take it to the Castaic Animal Care Center, he added.
