West Ranch High School football head coach TJ Yonkers, who was hired in March, has resigned from his position, according to West Ranch Principal Robert Fisher.

“We want to thank coach Yonkers for his dedication and commitment to the football program this past year,” Fisher said in a text message sent to The Signal. “We appreciate his efforts and the work he put in with our student athletes. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Yonkers took over the head coaching role following Chris Varner stepping down after the 2024 season.

The Wildcats finished the 2025 season with a 2-8 overall record and missed the playoffs for a second consecutive season.

Fisher confirmed that a search for the next football head coach will begin immediately.

There is no additional available information at the time of this publication.
