As a longtime Republican in this valley, I can’t let Denise Lite’s recent column (Nov. 22) go unanswered. She’s lecturing conservatives on how to win elections. The problem is simple: She hasn’t won any.
Lite has never won her own race. And the campaigns she (supported) in 2024 lost as well. Mike Garcia’s congressional race fell to George Whitesides, 51.33% to 48.67%. Patrick Lee Gipson’s Assembly run lost 52.8% to 47.2% against Pilar Schiavo.
Now Lite wants to lead the charge against the eight-story courthouse. Based on her history, that may be the fastest way to guarantee it gets built. Leadership requires consistency, discipline, and the ability to bring people in. Her record shows the opposite.
This community deserves real advocacy. Not rebranding. We need people who work, stay, and finish the job. People who bring others together instead of pushing them away.
Winning matters. Strategy matters. Follow-through matters.
And Santa Clarita cannot afford another campaign that collapses under someone who mistakes speeches for strategy and self-promotion for leadership. The courthouse fight is too important to hand over to another dead end.
