I have been a naughty boy. According to a letter from the gas company, I’ve used too much gas. Further, the electric company holds an ax over my head; the ax being their infamous Public Safety Power Outages.

Moreover, the water agency, backed up by state law Assembly Bill 1572, demands my homeowners association remove “non-functional lawn” by the entrance no later than Jan. 1, 2029.

Finally, all my utility bills are surging!

Then I read in The Signal that the L.A. County Regional Planning Commission and Santa Clarita Planning Comission are, respectively, considering permitting another 3,000 homes at Northlake in addition to another 300 apartments near Golden Valley Road.

Should I take to the streets and demonstrate against irresponsible construction? No! I have utmost confidence in our planning commissioners and City Hall will confront these utilities before approving these projects.

Specifically: Drill for more gas, build carbon-free nuclear power plants, and construct new reservoirs to capture more water.

Lastly, I’m certain our government officials will assure the utility rates will be halved across the board.

Thank goodness our worthy government is taking care of us!
