Deputies: Woman arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, car stolen from Nevada

A 22-year-old Santa Clarita woman was arrested on suspicion of felony grand theft auto charges and other outstanding warrants after Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the area of Canyon Crest Drive and Newhall Avenue for a vehicle stopped in the roadway, according to an official with the station. 

Upon investigation, the vehicle was determined to have been reported stolen out of Nevada, according to an email statement from Shirley Miller, spokeswoman with the station. 

The suspect was also found to have outstanding warrants, and deputies arrested her on suspicion of felony grand theft auto charges and on the outstanding warrants, Miller’s statement said. 

The woman was transported to the station jail, where she remains in custody with bail set at $225,000 as of the publication of this story, Miller said in her statement.
