Deputies: Over 38 pounds of narcotics seized

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies’ investigation into local narcotics sales led to a bust that resulted in the seizure of more than 38 pounds of drugs in the San Fernando Valley on Wednesday morning, according to a social media post from the station late Thursday afternoon. 

The post said that, based on an investigation by Narcotics Bureau detectives, assisted by Crime Impact Team deputies, search warrants were served at multiple locations in the San Fernando Valley Wednesday morning.  

A 34-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man, both from San Fernando, were arrested on suspicion of multiple felony narcotics charges, according to the social media post. 

They were transported and booked at SCV Sheriff’s Station jail, according to the post. 

Deputies and detectives seized over 27 pounds of methamphetamine, 8 pounds of fentanyl and 3 pounds of heroin, along with scales and packaging materials used for sales, according to the post, which included a photo of the seized items. 

According to L.A. County Sheriff’s Department booking logs, the man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, with two prior convictions, and the woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale. 

Representatives of the Narcotics Bureau and the Crime Impact Team could not be reached Thursday evening for additional information.
