Bautista receives Teamsters Scholarship Fund Award
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Scholarship Fund announced the recipients of its Class of 2026 scholarship awards, which includes Stephanie Joy Bautista, of Valencia.
Bautista is the daughter of Francisco Bautista, a member of Teamsters Local 495 employed by Rental Car. Stephanie is a recent graduate of Valencia High School and will attend Mount Saint Mary’s University in the fall.
The Teamsters Scholarship Fund awards six hundred $2,000 scholarships each year. The money raised for the Teamsters Scholarship Fund comes from Teamsters local unions, Joint Councils, and member service providers. The Teamsters do not allow any employers to donate to the Scholarship Fund.
Teamsters scholarships are awarded to high school seniors planning to enroll in four-year college after graduation, community college transfer students, and students who plan to attend trade or vocational schools. Applicants must be the daughter, son, or financial dependent of a Teamster.
Hance named to dean’s honor list at Cedarville University
Tabitha Hance, of Canyon Country, was named to the dean’s honor list at Cedarville University for spring 2026. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Cedarville University, an evangelical Christian institution in southwest Ohio, offers undergraduate and graduate residential and online programs across arts, sciences and professional fields. With 7,265 students, it is among Ohio’s largest private universities and is ranked among the nation’s top five evangelical universities in The Wall Street Journal’s 2026 Best Colleges in the U.S.
Local students named to Belmont University dean’s list
Belmont University released the dean’s list for the spring 2026 semester, with approximately 49% of the University’s 6,724 undergraduate students earning the academic recognition.
Among them were three local students:
• Samantha Zaidman, of Valencia.
• Isabella Caracciolo, of Valencia.
• Bethany Beeler, of Santa Clarita.
Dean’s List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
