SCV Boys & Girls Club employee arrested
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau is asking the public if there are any additional victims after an employee of the Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club was arrested last week on suspicion of lewd acts with a child.
The L.A. County District Attorney’s Office on Monday filed five charges alleging a relationship between the victim and the defendant, who also was at least 10 years older than the victim, according to the criminal complaint.
Elizabeth Elizarraraz, 32, of Castaic, was arrested after a nearly two-month investigation into allegations of a relationship with a child she met through the Boys & Girls Club program, according to a spokesman for the LASD Special Victims Bureau. The information was brought to the agency in January, according to an email Monday from Sgt. Joseph Mesa, who leads the North County SVB team.
Elizarraraz pleaded not guilty Monday, and the DA’s Office indicated the court lowered her bail “from statutory $360,000 to $200,000, over the people’s objection,” according to an email Tuesday from Venusse Dunn, spokeswoman for the office.
Mesa said he could not release the age of the victim, but Elizarraraz was arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old, and the victim was female.
“The sexual assaults occurred between May 2024 and October 2025,” Mesa wrote in an email Friday, adding Elizarraraz was taken into custody Thursday without incident. “There is no immediate threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing and in the early stages.”
He said the alleged incident occurred in the 25000 block of Blanca Way in Valencia, which is in a residential neighborhood just northwest of Orchard Village Road and McBean Parkway.
He indicated Tuesday that investigators were now reaching out to the public to see if there were any additional people out there who might be victims of a similar allegation.
Elizarraraz initially was scheduled for arraignment Monday afternoon. Her criminal complaint and plea were not immediately available from the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office.
LASD custody records indicated she was released Monday on a bond, with the amount not immediately available. She has a scheduled court date of April 17.
Matthew Nelson, CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club, confirmed Tuesday morning that one of the club’s employees had been arrested; however, he said he could not comment beyond a statement released on behalf of the local clubs.
