News release
The Santa Clarita Public Library is scheduled to host its annual Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros celebration on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library Branch, 18601 Soledad Canyon Road.
Also known as Day of the Children/Day of the Books, Día de los Niños honors children, promotes literacy and celebrates the joy of reading through culture, creativity and community connection. This annual event welcomes families from across Santa Clarita to come together and experience a morning centered around learning and imagination.
This year’s theme, “Unearth Your History,” invites attendees to explore the past through hands-on activities, cultural performances and interactive experiences designed for all ages.
Families can participate in a variety of crafts that encourage creativity and discovery, including making paper cacti, designing paper dresses and building dinosaur-themed popsicle stick creations, said a news release from the city of Santa Clarita.
Live entertainment will include a performance by ballet folklórico dancers and a balloon twister.
This free event is open to the public and no registration is required. For more information, visit Library.SantaClarita.gov.
