After another year of Santa Clarita Valley softball has concluded, the Foothill League has announced the Centurions’ Amelia Johnson took home the player of the year award alongside Hart’s Gabriella Kobliska, who secured this season’s pitcher of the year honor.
Player of the Year: Amelia Johnson, senior, Saugus.
Johnson, who’s a commit to the University of Nebraska, Omaha, secured her second-consecutive player of the year award after leading the Centurions to theirsecond-consecutive league championship.
Johnson ends the year as the Centurions’ leader in home runs and runs batted in. She ends her time with Saugus High School as the all-time career runs batted in leader.
Pitcher of the Year: Gabriella Kobliska, junior, Hart.
Kobliska is this season’s pitcher of the year honoree after the junior right-hander ended the Foothill League season with 109 strikeouts, a 2.60 earned run average, and 72.2 innings pitched.
In Kobliska’s final Foothill League contest of the season, the junior right-hander tossed a complete game in a win over West Ranch and led the Hawks to a third-place finish in the softball standings and playoff berth.
