I would like to share my response to Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo, as it should be of concern to our community as well as our City Council members:
I agree with most of your proposals. However, I see a glaring error in rushing through approval of multi-resident housing when there has been little to no available parking in the plan.
For example, an assisted living facility may have residents who mostly don’t drive, but they do have employees, visiting medical staff, and hopefully visiting family members! Street parking can not be relied upon for visitors, especially those bringing medical or entertainment related equipment. If you rush through approvals of housing projects, you may create havoc for the surrounding community.
Thank you for your consideration of this issue.
