I have lived in Santa Clarita for 56 years, and I am voting for Jason Gibbs for Congress. My reason is not complicated. I want a person who has lived in our city for many years, knows our history, and understands what we need. He has been battling the Cemex problem for years and is now working to solve the Chiquita Canyon Landfill environmental disaster. He knows we are threatened every year by brush fires during the Santa Ana wind season. He has close ties with the Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency to stay informed on our local water supply concerns. As mayor and city councilman, he has prioritized our public safety, created more parks and open space, and assisted our school districts to keep our children’s education at a very high level.

Jason Gibbs knows affordability is one of the greatest challenges for the residents of Santa Clarita. I am very worried that my children will not be able to purchase their own home or even be able to remain in this valley due to the high costs of living here. Gasoline has been over $5 for most of the year and electricity costs increased by 13% last fall. Groceries cost more than they did a year ago. Home insurance companies are moving out of state and it is very difficult to maintain your insurance and not have it canceled. Numerous companies are moving out of state and taking their quality jobs with them. Jason has spent six years on the City Council, where he prioritizes the values of Santa Clarita residents but does so while keeping a balanced budget.

Jason Gibbs knows the people in Santa Clarita. That is why I want him as my congressman.
