I first met Jason Gibbs about 10 years ago at a meeting of civic-minded people with differing viewpoints. A question was asked of the group, and Jason’s reply was thorough, detailed and specific with data points to support it; the room of 12 folks were stunned into silence by his answer, details and knowledge. I broke the silence of the room and told him that his response was the most detailed, non-nuanced and direct answer to a question; and I said, “What are you a rocket scientist?” Turns out he was and is!
Witnessing Jason’s commitment, passion to serve, ability to take on issue after issue in a smart, pragmatic, common-sense way made me proud he was elected to City Council, served as mayor and is now running against an absentee Democrat who only shows up in the SCV at election time. Congressman George Whitesides is afraid to debate Jason. I am not talking about a Chamber of Commerce town hall or “forum,” where there are only talking points and no real questions, but a true debate hosted by the local parties, open to the public and free of charge. A true debate where the candidates engage each other, in public, recorded and reported on. I personally asked Congressman Whitesides directly, in person, and he declined. Fear and lack of transparency and accountability — not good for our local congressman.
I’ve lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for about 60 years. I have a long history of giving back to our great city and organizations that truly make SCV a great place to “live, work and play.” SCV needs a passionate, focused, thoughtful and smart leader to represent us in Congress. Jason Gibbs is that individual. As a proud father, husband and documented servant to our community, Jason will bring common-sense, pragmatic solutions to Washington, D.C.
Please join me in reaching out to as many voters as you can to vote for Jason and let’s send Mr. Gibbs to Washington!
