Rickey Hayes for Assembly? Here’s why.

I think most Californians believe our beautiful state is on the brink of destruction – and we MUST ask why?

I am a lifelong common-sense pragmatic conservative. If you see a problem that needs attention or fixing, you get involved; roll up your sleeves and get to work. I have done this my entire life in the Santa Clarita Valley, and as I have come to know Rickey, I believe he feels the same. Many of his historical personal views do not align with mine but having hosted a candidate debate where he communicated his opinions and views, I am willing to see that people can change. Remember, President Ronald Reagan was a Democrat, and the party left him and then Reagan became a Republican. The same may be said about Ricky.

I admire Rickey’s service to our country, as a veteran, law enforcement and lineman, doing real work and providing valuable hands-on experience in the energy field. Is that enough? Compared to our current assemblywoman – absolutely!

When Rickey entered the race, our organization (SCV Congress of Republicans) had already endorsed his opponent. But because we are an inclusive, open real big-tent party, Rickey was invited to a previously scheduled debate. Why does this matter? Because I feel the best way to learn about someone is to engage, publicly, without the filters of townhalls or forums.

Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo (declined) to debate Rickey in public in a forum hosted by the local Republican and Democratic parties – free of charge. I asked her in person, face to face, to commit, and she declined. Why? Why should she not defend her record, in public, at a true debate? How can she defend voting virtually 100% with the same Democratic party that has run California into the ground for decades? By every metric, we as Californians spend more on virtually everything, from gas, groceries, housing, crime, health care, homelessness, schools, etc. And the result? We are not getting what we pay for. Why?

Here is the answer. The Democrats own the current state of affairs in California. Top to bottom. Democrats are responsible for where we are. The old saying of the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. Please don’t vote for more of the same.

Let’s break that cycle and make California work again, make California affordable again, make California Golden and great again. Had enough of the status quo? Do something different. Do something courageous, do something right. Vote red and send Rickey Hayes to Sacramento to provide a true powerful electric jolt to our great state.
