In re: Person killed in multi-vehicle crash, Sept. 8.
I have written several letters on this topic and hardly a day goes by without a story on these pages describing horrendous vehicle crashes on city streets as well as the Interstate 5 and State Route 14 freeways, many times involving deaths, and they all have a common cause: SPEEDING!
And another very common cause is the ubiquitous use of smartphones while driving, causing the driver to not pay attention. When the two of these are combined it’s literally a ticking time bomb on our streets and freeways.
While this can happen at any time, the most frequent times involve residents speeding to get to the I-5 and SR-14 to get to work in the morning and to get back home in the late afternoon.
When is the city going to say enough is enough?
