Five people suffered minor injuries after their vehicle rolled over and caught fire on the Southbound Interstate 5 near Lake Hughes Road in Castaic.
“The people that are inside the vehicle (suffered) minor injuries, maybe cuts, scrapes, things like that…no one with any traumatic injuries” said Supervisor Cheryl Sims with L.A. County Fire.
The patients did not need to be transported to a hospital.
Initially, L.A. County Fire called in several units to handle the single-vehicle collision that was reported around 3:06 p.m. They scaled that response back to just two units, an engine and a squad.
The vehicle fire did not spread to the surrounding brush.
“They are extinguishing the vehicle fire,” said Sims.
