A man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after his car slammed into four parked cars near Jakes Way in Canyon Country early Wednesday morning.
Although no one was seriously hurt in the multi-vehicle crash, a passenger in the car suffered cuts as a result of shattered glass.
The incident happened shortly after 1:35 a.m. when a car careened into a row of parked cars on Grace Lane, Lt. Rob Hahnlein of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station told The Signal Wednesday.
“He hit four parked cars,” he said. “A passenger received cuts and bruises.”
The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched at 1:39 a.m. to the 18000 block of Grace Lane, between Jakes Way and Sandy Drive, Fire Department spokeswoman Vanessa Lozano said.
“This was for an auto collision, one vehicle versus three parked vehicles,” she said, noting that sheriff’s deputies were on the scene.
Deputies counted at least four vehicles hit by the suspect car.
They are following up on reports that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit the other vehicles.
Emergency response crews found one car apparently pushed through a metal fence on impact and two other cars pushed into a sidewalk.
The suspect was placed in custody at the sheriff’s jail.
