Seven-hundred couples locked lips under mistletoe over the weekend and broke a world record.

Six Flags organized seven parks across the country on Saturday to get couples to kiss and break a Guinness World Record.

Locally, more than 200 people gathered onto a stage to join in on the effort.

“It’s part of the season and what a great, fun record to break,” said Six Flags Magic Mountain spokeswoman Sue Carpenter.

After a few practice runs, the couples were ready to smooch.

At exactly 2:15 p.m., each pair held up their mistletoe and kissed one another.

“I feel great,” said John Coan, who brought his wife to the theme park to share the moment.

“We’re part of history.”

Magic Mountain couples held their kiss for twelve seconds joining in with couples at the other six parks across the country.

“I hit up the cutest girl in town and said ‘Let’s do this,’” said Josiah Frazier, a participant who saw the event as an opportunity to take a young woman out.

Participant Samantha Scardino shared the moment with her significant other.

“I thought that it would be a cute little date to bring my boyfriend to,” she said.

“We’d share a little kiss and break a record.”

Carpenter confirmed that the record was broken through an email, where she told The Signal that there were 780 couples combined that participated.

“It’s kind of exciting, for every couple here,” Scardino said.

“It will be something that we’ll remember for a long time.”
