At least two people were injured, one of them seriously and rushed to the hospital, Thursday after a car ran into the back of a parked truck on Highway 14 near Via Princessa.
The crash happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. when a Lexus travelling in the northbound lanes of Highway 14 slammed into a truck that had stalled just south of Via Princessa.
“It seems there are multiple patients, one of them was transported to the hospital,” Captain Keith Mora of the Los Angeles County Fire Department told The Signal Thursday.
Early reports of the crash received by officers of the California Highway Patrol described the truck as having stalled in the lane next to the car pool lane, referred to by the CHP as the number 2 lane.
One motorist, according to the CHP log, reported seeing a woman trapped in the damaged car and a man bleeding from the head, on the ground.
CHP officers shut down all lanes of the highway at 11:45 a.m. while firefighters worked to free the trapped occupant of the car.
