Newhall attic fire quickly extinguished Tuesday morning

A small attic fire in a Newhall residence sent firefighters out to quickly extinguish the flames early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched at 3:26 a.m. to the 24000 block of Arch Street, according to Inspector Gustavo Medina with Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“Neighbors stated that roof was smoking,” he said.  “We got on scene and it was a single story with light smoke coming from the attic.”

The fire was discovered in the attic and was under control in approximately 20 minutes, at 3:48 a.m.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
