A power outage Thursday morning left at least 230 people – including the local sheriff’s station – without electricity following a problem centered on Creekside Road.
The power failure happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. leaving 236 customers of Southern California Edison without electrical service.
One of those customers was the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“We were operating on limited power earlier this morning,” Shirley Miller, sheriff’s spokeswoman told The Signal Thursday morning.
“The power has since been restored,” she said shortly after 11:15 a.m.
“Our phones temporarily were not functioning properly during the power outage and then the calls were forwarded to Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station until we could get up and running again.”
At noon, 236 people were still without power, said Edison spokeswoman Susan Cox.
“I don’t have an estimated restoration time,” she said. “As far as what caused it, that is still unknown at this time.”
The utility’s webpage which provides details online about particular outages reported that most of the impacted customers had power restored by 10 a.m.
Repair crews were reportedly still working to correct the problem.
