A quarter-acre brush fire erupted near the 29300 block of the Old Road in Castaic and fire officials worked to take down and contain the fire.

The call went out to officials at about 9:52 a.m. Sunday morning and was dubbed the “Range Incident.”

“(The fire) was under control at 10:14 a.m.,” said Supervising Dispatcher Art Marrujo .

No structures were threatened.

“Three helicopters were out,” said Captain Brad Evans with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

No injuries were reported related to the incident.

All units cleared the scene at 11:29 p.m.
