Here is the Newhall Crime and Public Safety Information Report for the week of June 26, 2017 through July 2, 2017:

06/20/17

Vehicle Burglary- Railroad Avenue / 15th Street
Person(s) unknown shattered the vehicle’s windows and stole numerous tools from the interior of the vehicle. Several tools were also stolen from the bed of the truck, although secured with a chain and lock.

06/24/17

Residential Burglary- 24800 block Railroad Avenue
Between the dates of 06/24/17- 06/27/17, person(s) unknown entered the victim’s unlocked residence and stole items.

06/26/17

Grand Theft- 22700 block 8th Street
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s 2017 Honda Accord which was left unoccupied with the engine running and keys in the ignition.

06/27/17

Petty Theft – 25000 block Hawkbryn Avenue
Person(s) unknown entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a pressure washer.

Robbery – 23400 block Lyons Avenue
Person unknown entered the location and passed a note indicating he had a gun. The suspect left the location on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. This incident is currently being investigated by The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Major Crimes Bureau.

Petty Theft – 23700 block Carl Court
Person(s) unknown stole two batteries from unlocked battery compartments of the victim’s trailer (toy hauler).

06/28/17

Attempt Residential Burglary -24300 block Peppermint Lane
Suspect was arrested by responding deputies.

06/29/17

Vehicle Burglary – 23600 block Newhall Avenue
Person(s) unknown shattered the victim’s driver side window and rummaged through the vehicle. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.

07/02/17

Commercial Burglary- 25000 block Peachland Avenue
Person(s) unknown forced entry into the businesses and stole an unknown amount of prescription medications.

It can take seconds for a thief to steal something from your car, so never leave valuables inside. Most vehicle crime is preventable. Don’t make your car a target for thieves byinside. Most vehicle crime is preventable. Don’t make your car a target for thieves by leaving such sought after items such as purses, wallets, lap top computers and cell phones in plain view. Always check you have closed all your windows and locked the doors before leaving your car unattended. While there’s no surefire way to totally prevent your car from being broken into keeping these tips in mind can make your car less of a target.
