John Musella is a resident of the SCV and president of the public relations company, the Musella Group.

He is also the Board Chair of the Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce and serves on the 38th Assembly District Republican Central Committee.

John has handled the PR for a variety of different projects in the SCV including a lot of the development which has been taking place in this valley. Most notably he is the public relations executive who represents the Chiquita Canyon Landfill.

I looked forward to this conversation a great deal.  The more I learned about John the more I found there was to talk about with him.  As a gay man and member of the Log Cabin Republicans, he has successfully championed LGBTQ rights within the Republican Party which is no small accomplishment.

As the Board Chair of the Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce, John has had to deal with questions from the Santa Clarita Gazette about the finances of the Latino Chamber of Commerce when it merged with the SCV Chamber There has also been some who have taken issue with the Chamber currently receiving free rent for its office at City Hall.

And of course, there are the issues of his support of continued development in this valley and the Chiquita Canyon Landfill Expansion or as John puts it: “the continuation of use”

I had heard a lot about John from my progressive friends both before and after meeting with him.  I head comments like “He’s the devil.” and “He lies all the time.”  But I went in to this podcast with an attitude of “OK, I’ve heard one side of these arguments. I’ll keep an open mind when I hear his side.”

John is charming in person, well-spoken and fascinating to talk to.  Particularly when it comes to issues which he is passionate about.  Love him or hate him, he is very, very good at public relations and communicating his beliefs.  John Musella is a resident of the SCV and president of the public relations company, the Musella Group.
