A car crashed into the Valencia Public Library around 1:17 p.m. on Saturday.

“A car hit the building,” said Supervisor Bernard Peters of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The driver, described as a 73-year-old woman, was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital as a precautionary measure, said Lt. Leo Bauer of the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

Her injuries were minor, Bauer said.

The vehicle struck the east side of the Valencia Library, facing Magic Mountain Parkway, but did little damage to the structure.

The parking lot remained open during the incident.
