While Los Angeles County staff will still work throughout the holiday season, Board of Supervisors meetings have been cancelled for the next two weeks.

Board Chair Sheila Kuehl cancelled the Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 meetings, though the county will still be operating as normal, according to Supervisor Kathryn Barger’s Communications Deputy Tony Bell.

“At the discretion of chair, the next board meeting will take place on Jan. 9,” Bell said. “However, the business of the county goes on. Our law-enforcement, first responders and other county departments and agencies are hard at work even during the holidays providing quality municipal services to the people of Los Angeles County.”

Correction: A previous version of this story said  Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas was the board chair.
