The Valencia High School softball team hosted a holiday boutique on Saturday to raise funds for the team.

Over 74 local vendors gathered in the high school’s gym to sell their handcrafted gifts and beauty products.

A silent auction also gave the community a chance to bid for various giftable items for the holidays.

“We have one of the best softball programs in the valley,” said Sue Griffith, the event coordinator.

“It’s one hundred percent fundraising for our girls which is fabulous for us parents.”

Donna Lee, the team’s head coach, is already looking forward to hosting another fundraiser next year.

“What we’re hoping for is maybe next year having it before Thanksgiving, that’s what we’re shooting for,” said Lee.

All proceeds from the event will be going to the softball teams various tournament and equipment fees.

Happy to be a part of this event! But … I think it’s better to identify myself as a Santa Clarita woodworker, not as a “handcrafted wood salesman.”
