Marc Emmer will be the keynote speaker at the College of the Canyons’ next Chancellor’s Circle event on Thursday, April 12.

The founder of the Valencia-based consulting firm Optimize, Inc., Emmer will discuss business strategy and other insights from his recently published second book, “Momentum: How Companies Decide What To Do Next.” The 4 p.m. program at the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center will be followed by a book signing and panel discussion on value creation.

In his book, Emmer detailed the 12 trends expected to reshape the business environment over the next 25 years – including shifts in monetary policy, electric mobility, geo tracking, digital banking, and on-demand labor.

“Looking into the future is not like a crystal ball; scenarios consider facts already in evidence today,” Emmer said in a news release. “Those who prepare for the things they can plan are in a better position to react to the things they cannot. We look at the future so we can decide what to do today.”
