Deputies arrest 33-year-old accused of smashing car windows


A Canyon Country man was arrested this week, accused of throwing rocks and smashing windows of vehicles parked at 24 Hour Fitness.

On Monday, about 11:45 p.m., deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the gym parking lot on the 18600 block of Via Princessa for a possible burglary call, said Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

“The call reported an adult male was throwing rocks at vehicles and shattering windows,” she said.

Deputies arriving at the fitness facility detained a 33-year-old man, arresting deputies identified as a machine operator. and arrested him on suspicion of felony vandalism.

The suspect was taken to the SCV Sheriff’s Station and booked, Miller said.
